You do whatcha gotta do (Part 2)

For the second straight day the Cubs showed some fire in their bellies. Also, for the second straight day, that fire got someone ejected. This time in the form of Kerry Wood. I'm not hear to recount what happened. Leave that to the news reporters. I am hear to critique, compliment, and criticize. I like this fire. I like competitive drive in players and managers. I like guys who don't like to lose. I have no problem with what Woody did today. Be the Ace of this staff and show some fire. It wasn't like he got himself kicked out of the ballgame before Dusty was ready for him to come out. He pitched until Dusty said that it was time to be done, and then Wood let the Umpire know what he thought. I give him props for holding his tongue until the right time.

I thought we had this game today, but I guess we owed the Reds one after we got a comeback yesterday. We lose a heartbreaker, but we showed heart. If this team keeps playing with this drive and heart, the pieces will begin to fall into place.

Player of the Game
I think Woody deserves this honor. He had only given up 1 run through 8 innings. At that point, bring in Borowski. I give him credit. He did what he needed to do. I he keeps pitching like this, we'll be fine.
